ASUP STRIKE: NAPS APPEAL TO FG TO FULFILL AGREEMENT OR FACE MASS PROTEST

The National Association of polytechnic students (NAPS), has appealed to Federal  government to pay listening ear to the demands of the Academic staff union of polytechnic (ASUP)  to avert another nationwide strike as failure to reach an agreement with the union will  attract a peaceful demonstration.

The Association President, comrade Kingsley Asiegbu stated this during a press briefing in Abuja on Monday.

"We humbly appeal to the FG to pay listening ears to the demands of the union as to salvage the academic gridlock that has hitherto held the curriculum backwards. There has been incessant industrial actions across the education sector, hence the look like an order in the education system. An attention to this plea is a gross attempt at the salvation of our future! We have neither seen nor heard where a good father promises his children bread and gives them stone. We may not hesitate to go on a 'Shut down Abuja Peaceful Demonstration.'

Speaking on Insecurity, Comrade Kingsley said the state of insecurity ravaging the Nation has affect tertiary institutions and campuses thereby calling on Nigerian government to find a lasting solution to curb it.

Morso, The Association Congratulates governor Soludo of Anambra state on the success of his inauguration into office.

"We hereby humbly urge His Excellency to make Education a priority in his administration. As a man who has attained the highest academic hierarchy and abreast with the nitty gritty if education and understanding for the need of education in the 21st century. "
