ASUU STRIKE: NIGERIAN MAN SUGGESTS SOLUTION TO STRIKE (DETAILS)
A young Nigerian entrepreneur identified on Twitter as @justKings has given a suggestion to help see that the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU ends the ongoing strike action.
He wrote; ”If 1M Nigerians contributes 1000 each that will amount to N1 billion. That’s enough to pay ASUU to cancel the strike and resume schools”But some Nigerians did not buy into his idea.
Below are the reactions of some people we picked on the comments section of his tweet:
Hephzib92462103 said; No Sir. 10 of the APC Presidential candidates should drop their presidential form(#100M) money, it’s enough to pay ASUU to cancel the strike and resume schools. Nigerians need to be burdened with this. They burdened enough with the failure of the government.
@BunmiCharity; Seriously, and d federal government is not doing anything, dey forgot students are at home going to 3 months now and all dey care about is campaign, its so annoying.
@sylvia_akra; My own is that I want to go for my service. Since 2016 I entered school.
@Bahadurian; If just 10 APC aspirants forego their ambition and donate N100m of their purchased presidential interest-forms, we will have N1b. That’s enough to pay ASUU to cancel the strike and resume schools.
@pearlblueblood; They demanded for 1.3trn during the first month warning strike, now they are saying if they can see 200+ billions they will resume, they are part of people destroying education jhare most of the civil servants are not being paid quarter of what some lecturer are collecting.
@onochiemercy; Good idea…. I wish we can create a GoFundMe account for ASUU and see how much we can raise since federal government is not doing anything to help.
@akoredeajibol13; Not everyone in Nigeria can afford 1000
@AlausaFatiat; I have tweeted this and so people where like am a fool for saying such.
@ayuba_sum; They added our fees we paid, so we should still pay for something the government is meant to pay for? what are they using the money in the education sector for? Abi the budget they use to do is for spiritual ASUU.
