The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) issued a letter to heads of tertiary institutions on July 31, 2024, addressing the misuse of the Condonement of Undisclosed Illegal Institutional Admissions (CUIIA). CUIIA pertains to students admitted outside the Central Admission Processing System (CAPS) or by institutions in violation of JAMB procedures between 2017 and 2020, typically lacking official registration numbers.
JAMB has announced its intention to end this condonement due to its misuse by some institutions, which has led to the falsification of crucial information. Consequently, institutions have a 30-day window, from August 1 to August 31, 2024, to update the records of affected students before the deadline.
This memo serves to inform Deans, Heads of Departments, and College Officers of JAMB's directive. Affected students (those without a JAMB registration number or admission letter) are advised to update their records at the JAMB Office in Ubakala before the deadline. Additionally, students who have changed their original programs post-admission are also required to comply.
Please address this matter with immediate attention.
Thank you.
Mrs. Onoja, E.A.
Deputy Registrar, Admissions
