Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has called upon all Corps members to intensify their commitment to fostering national unity, integration, and sustainable development across Nigeria in 2025.
In a special New Year’s message shared with the public by the Acting Director of Information and Public Relations, Caroline Embu, Ahmed emphasized the significant impact of the NYSC Scheme in promoting Nigeria’s progress. He praised Corps members for their dedication and hard work in 2024, leading to extraordinary achievements, and expressed optimism for even greater milestones in the coming year.
NYSC’s Role in National Unity and Development in 2025:
The NYSC Director General underscored the Scheme’s crucial role in Nigeria’s social and economic development, calling on all Corps members to enhance their efforts in executing critical projects aimed at advancing the nation’s growth. He reiterated that the NYSC’s mission of national unity and integration remains a top priority as Nigeria navigates the challenges of 2025.
“2024 was a year of remarkable success thanks to your dedication. As we step into 2025, I urge all Corps members to continue to give their best, ensuring that we meet our collective goal of advancing national unity and fostering development in all sectors of Nigeria’s economy,” Ahmed stated.
Skill Acquisition and Empowerment: A Key Focus for NYSC in 2025:
A significant part of the Director General’s message focused on empowering Corps members through the NYSC’s Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) program. The NYSC plans to expand these opportunities to ensure that Corps members acquire essential skills to become self-reliant and contribute to the growth of Nigeria’s economy.
Ahmed called on Corps members to actively participate in and take full advantage of these empowerment initiatives. “Our commitment to providing you with the skills necessary for your personal and professional development is unwavering. I encourage you to engage with the available SAED programs to improve your abilities and create new opportunities for success,” he added.
Strengthening Collaboration and Increasing Opportunities for NYSC Stakeholders:
In addition to addressing Corps members, the NYSC Director General took the opportunity to appreciate the contributions of collaborating agencies and stakeholders, whose support has been vital to the success of the NYSC Scheme. He assured them of continued collaboration and promised more opportunities for engagement in the year ahead.
“We are deeply grateful for the support we receive from our partners and stakeholders. As we move into 2025, we are committed to expanding our partnerships and increasing the opportunities available to all those involved with the NYSC,” Ahmed said.
Looking Ahead: A Promising Future for NYSC and Nigeria:
