FUDMA RUSTICATES 20 STUDENTS OVER EXAMINATION MALPRACTICES

The Senate of Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA), has approved the rustication of 20 students found guilty of committing various forms of examination misconduct, with effect from the Second semester of the 2025/2026 Academic session.

Approving the verdict, after receiving the Students' Disciplinary Committee Report during the 138th Regular Senate Meeting held on Wednesday, 11 March, 2026 at the Twin-Theatre of the Main Campus, the Chairman of the Senate and Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mohammed Khalid Othman, said "the decision is in accordance with Section 13.3, subsection 13.3c of the University's Policy on Examination Irregularity & Academic Misconducts"."

FUDMA rusticates 20 students over exam malpractice

Prof. Othman commended members of the Committee for commitment to FUDMA's examination misconduct policies and for ensuring the adherence to due process, fairness, firmness and justice.

He said the Senate's decision "is to send clear signals to all students to brace up to do the needful" and also serve "as deterrence to all those who want to cut corners through the lack of adherence to FUDMA's rules and regulations governing examination conduct".

All the affected students were given an opportunity to appear before the Committee, to defend themselves.
