The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will commence in January. While the specific date for the opening of the registration portal has not been disclosed, JAMB has assured stakeholders of a seamless and improved process.
According to the Monday Bulletin obtained in Abuja, the Board has not yet disclosed a specific date for the portal’s opening. However, JAMB assures stakeholders that comprehensive measures have been implemented to enhance the registration and examination process.
In a statement, JAMB expressed confidence in the improvements made, assuring candidates of an exceptional registration and examination experience. Prospective candidates are encouraged to create their profiles early by sending a text message in the format: NIN (space) followed by their 11-digit NIN number to 55019. This proactive step will minimize delays once registration begins.
JAMB also reiterated the importance of biometric verification as a critical part of the registration and examination process. Candidates have been warned against the application of henna, also known as “Laali” or “Lale,” as it obstructs the biometric verification process. The Board noted that attempts to remove henna with harsh chemicals could damage fingerprint patterns, rendering biometric authentication impossible. Candidates are advised to maintain clean and intact fingers, as biometric verification is mandatory for gaining access to the examination hall.
As preparations for the 2025 UTME progress, JAMB has assured the public of its commitment to delivering a smooth and efficient process. Candidates are urged to comply with the guidelines to ensure a hassle-free experience.
